William P. Jones, Jr. is a founder of Williams Jones and serves as Chairman and a Partner of Williams Jones. Previously, Mr. Jones was a Director and Senior Portfolio Manager at Mackay-Shields Associates where he worked from 1982-88. From 1980-82, he was a Vice President and Trust Officer at Chase Manhattan Bank. Mr. Jones began his career as a Vice President and Trust Officer at Bankers Trust Company, where he worked from 1974-80. Mr. Jones earned a B.A. from Harvard University in 1973.
John J. Eager is President and a Partner of Williams Jones. Mr. Eager heads our Fixed Income Group. From 1983-89, Mr. Eager was a limited partner at Mabon Nugent where he managed the fixed income group. Prior to that, he was a Vice President at Citibank in the fixed income area of the high net worth group. He was also associated with J.J. Lowry, Dean Witter and Kidder Peabody as a registered representative. Mr. Eager earned a B.B.A. from Manhattan College in 1969 and a M.B.A. from New York University in 1971.
Barbara A. Tarmy is a Partner of Williams Jones. Prior to joining Williams Jones, Ms. Tarmy was a Partner and Portfolio Manager of Capital Counsel LLC (2012-2016), a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager of Neuberger Berman, LLC (2007-2012), a Partner and Portfolio Manager of H.A. Schuph & Company, LLC (2001-2007), a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager of Warburg, Pincus Asset Management (1995-2001), a Vice President and Portfolio Manager of U.S. Trust (1992-1995) and a Vice President and Portfolio Manager of Morgan Stanley (1989-1992). Ms. Tarmy was employed in institutional equity sales positions at Goldman Sachs (1985-1989), Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette (1982-1985) and Salomon Brothers (1979-1982). Barbara A. Tarmy earned a B.A. from Bowdoin College in 1975 and a M.B.A. from Columbia University in 1979.
Thomas H. MacCowatt, CFA is a Partner of Williams Jones. Before joining Williams Jones, Mr. MacCowatt was a Manager of Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. in the Domestic Private Management Group from 1990-98. Mr. MacCowatt began his career as a Portfolio Manager at Marine Midland Bank where he worked from 1986-88. Mr. MacCowatt earned a B.A. from Colgate University in 1985 and a M.B.A. from New York University in 1990.
Malcolm L. Macpherson, Jr., CFA is a Partner of Williams Jones. Before joining Williams Jones, Mr. Macpherson was a Managing Director at Brundage, Story and Rose from 1994-2000. Mr. Macpherson began his career as a Portfolio Manager at Bank of New York where he worked from 1988-1994. Mr. Macpherson earned a B.A. from St. Lawrence University in 1987.
David A. Rosenfeld is a Partner of Williams Jones. Before joining Williams Jones, Mr. Rosenfeld was the President and CEO of Eagle Growth Investors from 1992-2000. Mr. Rosenfeld was a Portfolio Manager at Barbenco USA from 1987-92. Mr. Rosenfeld earned a B.S. from Fairfield University in 1982 and a M.B.A. from New York University in 1990.
Maureen C. Tompkins is a Partner of Williams Jones. Ms. Tompkins was one of the founders of the investment advisory firm of Lyon, Stubbs & Tompkins in 1984, acting as President and a Director from 1988-2005. From 1977-1984, Ms. Tompkins occupied various positions, including Portfolio Manager, at Neville, Rodie and Shaw. Ms. Tompkins earned a B.A. from the College of New Rochelle in 1975.
John B. Cummings is a Partner of Williams Jones. Mr. Cummings specializes in Municipal bond portfolio management. From 2002-2011, Mr. Cummings worked at PIMCO where he was Executive Vice President and head of Municipal bond portfolio management from 2008-2011. Mr. Cummings was a Vice President in Municipal bond trading at Goldman Sachs from 1997-2002. He was the head of Municipal trading at E.A. Moos from 1994-1997. Mr. Cummings was also associated with R.J. Walls & Co. and Mabon Nugent. Mr. Cummings earned a B.A. from Rutgers College in 1983 and a M.B.A. from Rutgers University in 1990.
Henry A. ("Gus") Wilmerding, III is a Partner of Williams Jones. From 1995 to 2013, Mr. Wilmerding was a Portfolio Manager for private and institutional clients at Estabrook Capital Management and also served as a Director from 2008 to 2013 and a member of the Executive Committee from 2012 to 2013. Mr. Wilmerding was lead portfolio manager for the $450 million Hamilton Large Cap Value Fund from 2006 to 2008 and for the $100 million Bank of New York Institutional Collective Trust from 2005 to 2008. From 1992 to 1995, Mr. Wilmerding was an Associate at Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. in the Domestic Private Management Group. Mr. Wilmerding earned a B.A. from Colby College in 1986 and a M.B.A. from Columbia University in 1992.
J. Douglas Kelly, Jr. is a Partner of Williams Jones. From 2000 to 2013, Mr. Kelly was a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager at Legg Mason Investment Counsel and its predecessor. Mr. Kelly was a Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager at Brundage, Story & Rose, LLC (1999-2000), a Group Vice President at Schroder Wertheim Investment Management (1990-1999), a Vice President at Bear Stearns Asset Management (1988-1990) and a Vice President, Portfolio Manager and Analyst at New York Life Insurance Company (1985-1988). Mr. Kelly earned a B.A. from Yale University in 1981 and a M.B.A. from New York University in 1985.
Jeff Schweon is Chief Compliance Officer, Chief Legal Officer and a Partner of Williams Jones. Prior to joining Williams Jones, Mr. Schweon practiced law in New York for 15 years. He was a corporate partner at LeBeouf, Lamb, Greene & MacCrae from 2001-2004, an associate and then a corporate partner at Christy & Viener from 1993-2000, a corporate partner at Salans, an international law firm into which Christy & Viener merged in 2000, from 2000-01 and a corporate associate at Milgrim, Thomajan & Lee from 1989-93. From 1983-1986, Mr. Schweon was an auditor at Arthur Andersen & Co. Mr. Schweon earned a B.B.A. from Temple University in 1983 and a J.D. from The George Washington University Law School in 1989. Mr. Schweon serves on the Dean's Advisory Board at the George Washington University Law School. Mr. Schweon is on the Board of Governors of the Investment Advisory Association and is Chairman of its Government Relations Committee.
Hoa V. Le, CFP®, CIPM, AWMA®, WMS is Head of Operations, Technology, Financial Planning, and a Partner of Williams Jones. Mr. Le joined Williams Jones in 2007. He has over 20 years of experience in the investment management and financial services industry. Previously, Mr. Le was a Technology Consultant in the Investment Management Group at Advent Software and an Investment Operations Manager at the Steffen Group, a division of Northwestern Mutual. He began his career at Commonwealth Financial Network where he worked in various positions as an Asset Management Associate, Fee-Based Product Specialist and Portfolio Management Software Specialist, and has held NASD licenses (24, 4, 7, 66). Mr. Le received a B.A. in Economics from Brandeis University.
Karen Y. Ma is a Partner and Portfolio Manager at Williams Jones. Prior to joining the Firm in 2006, Ms. Ma was an Equity Analyst at Olayan America, the U.S. arm of the Olayan Group, a private, international, family investment entity, from 2002 to 2006 and worked as an Investment Portfolio Associate at Eagle Growth Investors from 2000 to 2002. Ms. Ma earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in Political Science and Finance from the University of Buffalo in 2000.
Sidney F. Goudie, CFA is a Fixed Income Portfolio Manager and Fixed Income Research Analyst at Williams Jones. Mr. Goudie joined the Firm in 2008 to assist Williams Jones’ Fixed Income Group with analytics and trading. Mr. Goudie graduated from Hobart College in 2008 with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Public Policy and History.
Thomas Gilloran is a Portfolio Manager and Research Analyst at Williams Jones. Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Gilloran was a Research Analyst at First Manhattan where he was responsible for generating equity investments across all industry verticals. From 2011-2015 Mr. Gilloran was an Equity Research Associate at Jefferies LLC. Mr. Gilloran graduated from Babson College in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.
Sandra N. Salas is the Business Development Officer of Williams Jones. Prior to joining the Firm in 2015, Ms. Salas had 17 years of experience in the investment management industry in both portfolio manager and equity analyst roles at firms including AIG Sunamerica Asset Management, Schroder Investment Management, and Salomon Smith Barney (now Citigroup). From 1998-2001, she was an Investment Officer for the endowment and pension fund for the University of California’s nine university campuses, five medical centers, and three national laboratories. She currently serves on The Browning School Annual Giving Committee in New York. Ms. Salas earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Berkeley in 1989 and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business in 1994.
Brandon Reid, CFA is a Managing Director of Williams Jones. Prior to joining the Firm in 2022, Mr. Reid was a Managing Director, Senior Account Advisor and Manager of the Palm Beach, Florida office for Bessemer Trust (2000-2019). Prior to Bessemer, Mr. Reid was a partner at Brundage Story & Rose (1981-2000). Brandon Reid graduated from Tufts University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology in 1972 and from The Stern School at New York University with a Master of Business Administration in 1980.
Emily C. Smith, CFP® is the Director of Financial Planning at Williams Jones. Ms. Smith joined the firm in 2018 and has over 10 years of wealth management experience. Prior to joining Williams Jones, Ms. Smith was a Wealth Strategist and Financial Planner at Lenox Wealth Advisors and an Associate Wealth Manager at the Bank of New York Mellon. Ms. Smith earned her B.A. from Fordham University.
Olivia M. Coym, CFP®, CIPM, AWMA® is the Director of Client Services at Williams Jones. Prior to her role as Director of Client Services, Ms. Coym was a Portfolio Administrator, Operations Specialist, and Performance Analyst at Williams Jones from 2013-2017. Ms. Coym graduated from John Jay College in 2013 with a B.S. in Molecular Biology.

Prior to her role as Director of Operations, Ms. Fernandez was a Portfolio Administrator, Operations Specialist, and Performance Analyst at Williams Jones from 2005-2012. She worked at Circle Advisors as an Operations Associate from 2001-2005. Ms. Fernandez earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from New York University in 2002 and a Master of Science degree in Marketing from Baruch College in 2007.
